As a mom of an energetic toddler and a full-time marketer, I struggle to balance work, parenting, and hobbies. I know I’m not alone in this struggle; many parents must juggle careers, family life, and other activities daily. It can be hard to carve out enough time to start a blog or do a hobby while attending to your child’s needs. However, with some planning and the right productivity tools, you can make managing your daily tasks more accessible and efficient.
Productivity Tools Are Your Friends
Productivity tools are essential when keeping track of everything you need to do in your daily life. My favorite tools include Todoist for task management, Notion for project/goal tracking, Asana for collaboration (great if you need help from others!), Forest for staying focused on specific tasks or goals (great way to avoid procrastination!), and Clockify for time tracking (perfect for seeing where your time is going!). All these tools help me stay organized so that I can limit distractions when it comes to starting my blog and working full-time.
Deep Dive On Productivity Tools
Todoist
Todoist is an excellent tool for task management. It’s simple to use and lets you easily set up projects, assign tasks, and track progress. Additionally, it integrates with third-party applications like Dropbox, Google Calendar, and Evernote so you can stay on top of your work-life balance. The user interface is clean and intuitive, making it easy to start quickly. Overall, Todoist is an excellent choice for anyone looking for an effective task manager.
Notion
Notion is a great all-in-one workspace that allows users to create databases, pages, documents, and more. It’s versatile enough to be used for anything from tracking personal goals to managing projects at work. The drag-and-drop feature makes it easy to organize data however you like, while the templates provide a great starting point for creating visually pleasing workspaces. Notion is a fantastic solution for anyone needing an organized workspace tailored to their needs.
Asana
Asana was designed with teams of any size in mind. It allows users to assign tasks, comment on projects in real-time, and track progress via timeline or calendar view. Additionally, its mobile app provides access on the go, and its powerful integrations make automation easy. With its robust reporting capabilities, Asana will help keep your team organized and productive.
Forest
Forest is a unique productivity app that encourages users to focus on their work without getting distracted by notifications or other online activities. To stay off their phone or computer while working, they must plant virtual trees that grow if they remain “focused” throughout the growing period (the amount of time they’ve set). Aside from being fun – rewarding users with trees improves focus – Forest also helps plant real trees when enough virtual ones have been grown! Forest could be an excellent option for those struggling with staying focused throughout the day!
Clockify
Clockify is an excellent time-tracking tool perfect for freelancers or teams who need additional accountability regarding their hours worked each day/week/month etc. This tool offers features such as customizable time entries across multiple platforms plus integration with popular software like JIRA & Slack, allowing you greater control over who can view & modify your data within any given project or team workspace while keeping all data secure and private by default if so desired by the user(s). This makes Clockify a compelling yet user-friendly platform ideal for individuals and businesses looking for a centralized solution to record & report their hours worked efficiently & accurately!
Moms, Schedule It Out
I also find it helpful to plan by scheduling out every day of the week. This means block scheduling my work hours when I know my toddler will be occupied or sleeping. This gives me more time during the day when I won’t be interrupted by her or other tasks that need attention. Additionally, it allows me to focus on one task at a time instead of trying to do multiple things simultaneously. For example, during nap times and after bedtime, I can focus solely on writing blog posts without having any interruptions from my toddler or other tasks needing attention throughout the day – allowing me to get more done in less time!
Productivity Tip – Break It Down
Finally, breaking down larger projects into smaller tasks helps make them more manageable – mainly if you have limited free time each day due to being busy with children or other obligations like work. Instead of feeling overwhelmed by a seemingly impossible task such as launching a successful blog – break it down into smaller chunks, such as researching what type of content you want to create and write three blog posts per week until the launch date! Breaking down larger goals into smaller manageable pieces makes them much easier to accomplish and stay motivated while doing them!
Starting a blog while juggling motherhood and work can seem daunting, but with the right productivity tools and strategies in place, it’s possible! Productivity tools like Todoist, OneNote, Notion, etc., are great resources that can help keep everything organized so that you don’t feel overwhelmed by all the responsibilities you have each day. Additionally, scheduling out your days ahead of time and breaking down large projects into smaller chunks are great ways to help complete those tasks much more accessible – mainly if you have limited free time each day due to being busy with children or other obligations like work!
